Online degree FAQs

Before embarking on your educational journey with Roehampton, we understand you’ll need the facts to feel ready. Check out the most common questions we receive about our online MBAs.

What are the entry requirements for Roehampton’s MBA programmes?

To be eligible for our online degrees, you should hold a second-class honours degree from a recognised university. However, we also encourage non-graduates with appropriate professional qualifications and those with third-class honours degrees to apply.

Non-native English speakers must demonstrate a minimum standard of English language proficiency through a valid English language qualification that is no older than two years from the date of issue.

Is work experience required for online MBA students?

Our MBA programmes are designed for professionals early in their careers or those hoping to make career changes, thus, we don’t require you to have previous work experience to be eligible to apply.

How are MBA students assessed?

Learning assessments vary by programme module, so we encourage you to refer to programme-specific syllabi. However, you can expect a variety of individual and group, including written assignments, presentations, video podcasts, case studies, and online multiple-choice questions, in addition to a final capstone project.

How are MBA learning modules delivered?

All of our MBA modules are administered on our innovative virtual learning platform. There you’ll participate in live sessions and discussions, complete assignments, watch interactive videos, and more. You’ll find it easy to use and accessible wherever you are in the world.

What does the applied research and/or consultancy project look like?

To gain more real-world experience and to apply to knowledge you learned in other modules, this capstone project provides you with an opportunity to work on an identified business problem and to generate a theory-driven solution. The focus of this project is up to you but will be carried out on a consultancy basis or via applied research focused on addressing specific business problems.

Are there specialisations or concentrations within your MBA programmes?

Our MBA programmes are designed with a multidisciplinary approach, covering a range of applicable topics relevant to global environments and industries. While we don’t offer specialisation-specific tracks on our MBA programmes, you’ll be able to take additional learning modules should you want to learn more about a particular area.

Do I have to take the optional learning modules and is there an extra cost to taking them?

You’ll only be required to complete seven compulsory modules, along with a final capstone project, for our online MBA programme. The optional modules are entirely up to you and are not mandatory.

Our programme pricing includes all learning modules, both compulsory and optional. Therefore, if you choose to complete an optional module, there won't be any extra costs.

Please note that optional modules can vary from year to year and are subject to availability. Be sure to check the current offerings for your programme.

Am I eligible for the MBA placement programme as an online student?

At this current time, our online MBAs are not eligible for this programme.

Are Roehampton’s MBA programmes accredited?

Yes, our online MBA programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Upon completing your studies, you’ll receive a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from CMI, giving you a leg up in today’s dynamic business landscape.
